LBP 2 European Collector’s Edition finally revealed

The European version of LBP 2′s Collectors Edition has finally been revealed, but it’s a bit disappointing.

After the United States version of the Little Big Planet 2 Collector’s Edition was revealed back in July, European fans have been eagerly awaiting details for the European version. Well, those details have finally been released, but the end result is very disappointing.

While the American version has a Sackboy plushie, book-ends, 11 downloadable costumes and 5 exclusive PSN avatars, the European version knocks out the 2 best things (the plushie and book-ends) in return for a steelbook case.

No pricing has been revealed just yet, but i personally can’t see it being as expensive as the US version, which is actually quite cheap anyway at $80. Needless to say, these little bonuses wouldn’t be worth paying any more than £50-£60 for.

The steelbook case does look quite nice, however. The steel bit is decorated with a sack material and zip of a Sackboy’s body and a transparent sleeve decorated with stickers and information is put around it. The EU collectors edition features:

  • A steelbook case with a copy of the game.
  • 7 DLC costumes (Toy Story 3: Alien, TRON Legacy: Clu, The Muppets: The Great Gonzo, ‘Even More Animals’: Crocodile, Vulture, Cobra, Mandrill.)
  • 5 exclusive PSN avatars.

There may, however, be a few more things included. Alex Pavey, the blog post writer ensures us that “The LittleBigPlanet 2 Collector’s Edition will be available in different ways across Europe and the other PAL countries, with all kinds of different additional goodies on offer, so keep your eyes open for more details about release plans in your country.”

Additionally, several retailers will be selling the game with different DLC packs exclusively including a Jak & Daxter pack and a Ratchet & Clank pack.

As soon as we have more details on country-specific packs, we’ll post them.
