Hideo Kojima has revealed that the classic games Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake will come with the MGS HD Collection.
Hideo Kojima is usually teasingly quiet about his games, but he has recently been giving new details on the MGS HD Collection through his English Twitter account.
The Kojima Productions-head has Tweeted information regarding the version of MGS3: Snake Eater that is included in the HD Collection, confirming that it will be the Subsistence edition, which includes playable versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, which were originally released on the MSX.
Metal Gear HD series. Overseas edition is a package of MGS2, MGS3 and PW.
[T]here is no product code for MGS1, but since MGS3 is subsistence specification, there are MG1 and MG2 which were sold on MSX.
For this, you can enjoy MG1, MG2, MGS2, MGS3 and PW with this one!
Sounds like a good deal to me. The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is set for release in November 2011 and includes Kojima’s new Transfarring system, as detailed here.
Kojima also Tweeted a picture of the trophy artwork for MGS 2 HD and MGS 3 HD, as you can see here.
Thanks, Examiner.

It’s all very well…
But it still lacks Metal Gear Solid 1.. the game that 80% of Metal Gear fans would have liked in the ‘collection’
I won’t be buying it… not out of osme high and mighty feeling, but just because I own all of the games already :I
Apparently the Japanese version also comes with a copy of MGS 1, but not a HD remake. No idea why they didn’t include it in our version :|
