ZOMGaming: Catch-Up Edition – 20/1/2012

ZOMGaming - Catch-up edition

Macho dragons, Bear flips and a Kinect-powered sandbox game – this is ZOMGaming.

ZOMGaming is a weekly feature post published every Friday, featuring Matt’s favourite gaming videos from the internet over the past week. You can be the first to watch these videos by subscribing to the Cooking With Grenades YouTube channel to see our ‘Favourites’ feed.

Welcome to the first edition of ZOMGaming. For our first week on the web, I have chosen 3 of my favourite videos that I discovered before we went live. Enjoy!

Macho Dragon Skyrim Mod

by Fncypntz

Mods are great for PC games; they improve the playtime of a game, give amateur developers a way to get into the industry and give gamers a chance to see something in their game that they couldn’t usually see. This mod is an example of that, and it replaces the dragons in Skyrim with big, scaly versions of the WWF wrestler ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage. “Oh Yeah!” sums it up nicely.

Interactive Kinect Sandbox

By

I discovered this video via VSauce’s Twitter feed, and I was pretty amazed when I saw it. The video shows a sandbox with lights projecting a landscape onto it. The sandbox also uses Kinect to sense the depth of the sand, and changes the projection depending on the depth. Best of all, it’s dynamic, and so as the sand is moved around, the projection changes. Watch the video, it’s awesome.

Two Best Friends Play – Man vs Wild

By / TheSw1tcher

I’ve been a fan of this series for a few months now, and this is the video that hooked me in. Two Best Friend Play stars 2 friends called Matt and Pat who have a complicated love-hate relationship, but both love games. The series is essentially gameplay commentary videos, with each video featuring Matt & Pat playing a game while arguing and making jokes. It’s hilarious, and series 4 (entitled ‘Refriengeance‘) is starting soon.
