A shameless video plug, an amazing TV and some old inspiration – this is ZOMGaming.
ZOMGaming is a weekly feature post published every Friday, featuring Matt’s favourite gaming videos from the internet over the past week. You can be the first to watch these videos by subscribing to the Cooking With Grenades YouTube channel to see our ‘Favourites’ feed.
This week I’ve got 3 more videos for you, one of which is a CWG original. There’s plenty more of them to come, and you can stay informed by subscribing to the Cooking With Grenades YouTube channel.
The Great Super Meat Boy Race – Part 1
Introducing our first original video series; the Great Super Meat Boy Race. In this series, me and Ryan will be racing to the end of the notoriously difficult indie game Super Meat Boy, while we talk (and rage) on microphones.
Both playthroughs are visible at all times, and each episode is 20 minutes long. Bear in mind that this is our first series, and so it may be a bit rough around the edges, but there is plenty more to come. Episode 2 has already been filmed and edited and will be live soon.
LG’s 4mm thin 55″ 3D OLED TV
by LGCanada
This might not be totally gaming related, but I like to think that some of our readers may be gaming with one of these one day. The 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas ended a few weeks ago, and it brought with it some amazing technology. The big reveals were new TVs, with new 4k TVs boasting around 4x as many pixels as current TVs.
There were also some amazing transparent-screen TVs and a window that doubles as a home computer, among other things. Very nice, but that stuff is a bit useless at the moment (especially the 4k TVs). LG responded with this new 55″ 3D OLED TV which, according to the spokesperson in the advert, is the biggest 3D TV in the world. But I don’t really care about the size, what really amazes me about this TV is the width. Watch the video, the amazing part is around the 20 second mark.
4PlayerPodcast – IS THERE EVEN A GOD ANYMORE!?!
Here’s a bit of CWG trivia for you. Before Cooking With Grenades came BadassPanda.com, and before that came the Badass Panda Podcast. Now, before that (and we’re going back quite some years now), came Angry Badger Gaming. ABG was a YouTube channel run by Me, Ash, Ryan and Ryan’s brother, in which the premise was to upload funny gameplay videos.
In the end, we uploaded 1 video before moving onto BaP. Angry Badger Gaming was inspired by 1 YouTube channel, and that was 4PlayerPodcast. Almost every night 4PP stream live gameplay over Justin TV, and they’re hilarious. They also upload the highlights to their YouTube channel and have over 1,500 videos. The Fatal Frame videos are particularly excellent.
